Top recommendations for your DTM Hockenheim weekend
The DTM weekend in Hockenheim offers much more than just on-track action. With your DTM Hockenheim Tickets, you can enjoy fan-focused experiences directly at the circuit and explore nearby cities, perfect for unwinding in the evening with a drink, a local dinner or even an extra day of sightseeing. This race weekend is easy to combine with memorable off-track moments.
Things to do at the circuit – more than just racing
The DTM Fan Zone is the central meeting point for fans throughout the weekend. Between sessions, it’s the perfect place to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Watch the action on the big screen, check out the latest DTM merchandise, or try interactive highlights like the DTM Reaction Wall and the Action Parcours. Families are well covered too, with activities for kids and entertainment that make the Fan Zone worth a visit at any time of day.
One of the absolute fan favourites is the Pit Walk, open to all DTM ticket holders on both Saturday and Sunday. This is your chance to step into the pit lane, see the cars up close and watch the teams at work just metres away. It’s a rare behind-the-scenes experience and completely free for fans.
Another highlight not to miss is Meet the Drivers in the Fan Zone. On both days, selected autograph sessions give fans the opportunity to meet drivers from DTM and supporting series in person. If you enjoy getting close to the sport and its personalities, this is one of the best moments of the weekend.
Explore the region – great cities just a short drive away
Hockenheim might be all about the race, but it also makes a great base if you’re staying a bit longer or want to head out after race day. With your hotel in or around Hockenheim, several attractive cities are just a short drive away and ideal for dinner, drinks or an extra day of exploring.
Hockenheim itself offers a few easygoing options between race days. Grab a bite or a drink at one of the local spots in town, like Yasmin Libanesisches Restaurant for flavour-packed Middle Eastern dishes or Wirtshaus Güldener Engel for hearty German classics in a traditional setting. For more ideas, a quick look at Tripadvisor will point you in the right direction.
Heidelberg is a great option for a relaxed evening away from the circuit. Head to the river for a drink, enjoy good local food and take a walk through the old town to unwind after race day.
Mannheim feels a bit more urban and is easy to reach from Hockenheim. With a wide choice of restaurants, craft beer spots and a laid-back nightlife, it’s a good place to spend the evening with decent food and a drink or two after a full day at the track.
Speyer is a great stop for anyone who wants to keep the motorsport vibe going. Just a short drive away, the Technik Museum features race cars, planes and impressive engineering highlights, an easy and worthwhile off-track stop for real fans.
