Our top recommendations for your MotoGP Thailand weekend
From securing your MotoGP Buriram tickets to experiencing a brand-new era of racing at the Chang International Circuit, make the most of your trip to Thailand with our top recommendations.
The MotoGP season starts in Buriram
As the season opener, Buriram is where months of winter testing finally turn into real racing. It’s the first chance to see which teams and riders have found an edge, and where the first championship points of the year are handed out.
In 2027, there’s even more at stake. The Thai Grand Prix is the first competitive event under MotoGP’s new technical regulations for 2027–2031. Engines will drop from 1,000cc to 850cc, aerodynamics will be reduced and ride-height devices will be banned. The changes are designed to create closer racing while making MotoGP safer and more sustainable. The new bikes will already have lapped in pre-season testing, but Buriram is where they go wheel to wheel for points for the first time.
Being trackside for the first race of the season is a great reason to lock in your MotoGP Buriram tickets early.
Discover more of Thailand
Buriram rewards fans who stay a little longer. Beyond the circuit, you can explore the scenery of Khao Kradong Forest Park, discover local landmarks and enjoy authentic Thai cuisine, from flavour-packed street food to traditional local dishes.
If you’re travelling to Thailand for MotoGP, leave some extra time to experience the food, culture and sights that make the region worth exploring.
MotoGP Thailand ticket availability
MotoGP Thailand attracts fans from around the world, and availability can become more limited as race weekend approaches. Popular grandstands and hotels close to Chang International Circuit may sell out, so booking early gives you the best chance of securing your preferred option.
Good to know before booking:
- Popular grandstands can sell out early
- Hotels near Chang International Circuit become more limited closer to the event
- Booking early gives you a wider choice of tickets and accommodation
Secure your preferred MotoGP Buriram tickets early for the best choice of grandstands and ticket options.

Where to stay for the MotoGP Thailand weekend
Staying in Buriram keeps you close to Chang International Circuit and gives you easy access to the track throughout the MotoGP weekend.
Some of the main areas to consider include:
- Buriram city centre: a convenient choice if you want a wider selection of hotels, restaurants and shops while staying within easy reach of the circuit
- Near Chang International Circuit: ideal if being close to the track and the MotoGP action is your priority
Planning your visit
A little planning can make your MotoGP Thailand weekend much easier. Buriram is located in north-eastern Thailand, around 400 km north-east of Bangkok, with several ways to reach the city and Chang International Circuit.
Flying in – closest airports
Buriram Airport (BFV) does not operate international flights, so international visitors will first need to fly into one of Bangkok's main airports. From either one, you’ll need to catch a connecting flight to Buriram.
- Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK): Bangkok’s main international airport
- Don Mueang International Airport (DMK): Bangkok’s second major airport and the departure point for direct flights to Buriram
If you arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport, allow enough time to transfer to Don Mueang Airport before your onward flight to Buriram.
Arriving by car or motorcycle
Renting a car in Bangkok gives you the flexibility to drive directly to Buriram and get around independently throughout your race weekend.
Circuit address: 30/2 Moo 4, Tambon Isan, Muang District, Buriram 31000, Thailand
- Rental cars are available at both BKK and DMK airports
- The drive from Bangkok to Buriram takes around 5–6 hours
- International visitors should check the driving licence and International Driving Permit (IDP) requirements that apply to them
- Rental companies may require a credit card in the main driver’s name for the deposit
Arriving by public transport
If you don’t want to fly or drive from Bangkok, you can also reach Buriram by bus or train:
- Bus: Services from Bangkok’s Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal take around 6 hours to Buriram
- Train: Services from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal take approximately 6–8 hours to Buriram
Must-have apps for your race weekend
