Perfect location – Ideal for your Italian getaway

The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari is located in one of Italy’s most charming regions – Emilia-Romagna – and it’s the perfect starting point for an unforgettable Italy trip. Just 30 kilometres away, you’ll find Bologna, a city full of life, culinary gems and classic Italian vibes. Sip an Aperol Spritz during aperitivo hour, enjoy live music in the streets, and explore everything from the historic university and famous Portici to the hidden “Little Venice” scene – a secret spot offering real Venice vibes right in the heart of Bologna.

Fancy heading to the coast after the race? No problem – the Adriatic Sea is only 50 kilometres away. Particularly popular: the seaside towns of Cervia and Milano Marittima. While Cervia offers laid-back beach vibes, Milano Marittima is the trendier hotspot with boutique hotels, beach clubs and nightlife right by the water. If you're looking to unwind by the beach with a drink after all the racing action, this is the place to be.

And don’t forget: Imola itself has plenty to offer. This charming town blends motorsport tradition with a relaxed Italian feel. Right next to the track, you’ll find the Checco Costa Museum – a must-see for all F1 fans. Another highlight: in the Parco delle Acque Minerali, right at the legendary Tamburello corner, stands the Ayrton Senna Memorial. This is where the motorsport world stood still in 1994 – today, it’s a powerful tribute to one of Formula 1’s greatest legends.

Culinary highlights of Emilia-Romagna

Emilia-Romagna is made for food lovers. It’s all about great ingredients, authentic recipes and unforgettable flavours. Whether you’re into delicate pasta or rustic classics – Bologna serves up local favourites like tortellini, lasagne, tigelle, piadina with squacquerone & rocket, fettuccine al ragù or crescentine with mortadella – it’s all simply delicious! Looking for a great meal in the city? We recommend Trattoria da Me, the cosy Osteria Broccaindosso or the charming Osteria Marsalino – a must for food lovers. Between 6 and 8 pm, it’s all about aperitivo in Bologna! Expect great wines, every kind of Spritz you can imagine, and classic ‘stuzzichini’ – small snacks that are basically Italy’s answer to tapas. Just sit back and enjoy!

Further south, in Cervia, enjoy fresh seafood right by the sea – for example at Ristorante Figli del Sole or the popular Saretina 152. Want something truly regional? Try the piadina at La Piadina della Piazzetta – widely considered one of the best around. And if you want to combine motorsport and fine dining, then Ristorante Cavallino in Maranello is a must – located right next to the Ferrari Museum, full of style and flavour. Whether you’re after a relaxed osteria, creative city restaurant or laid-back beach spot – you’ll eat well everywhere in Emilia-Romagna. Looking for the best insider tips? Tips for a smooth journey to the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix

Expand/Collapse

To make sure your Grand Prix weekend in Imola starts off right, we’ve put together the best travel tips for you. The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari is located in beautiful Emilia-Romagna – and it’s easily accessible by public transport or car.

Getting there by plane

The nearest airport is Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) – just around 40 minutes (approx. 48 km) from Imola by car. Other nearby airports include Florence Airport (FLR) – about 75 km away, and Federico Fellini International Airport in Rimini (RMI) on the Adriatic coast, which is ideal if you’re planning to combine your race weekend with a beach holiday.

A little further afield, but still well-connected, are Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) and Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport (PSA) – both roughly 2 to 2.5 hours away by car. They’re perfect options if you’re planning a longer Italy trip or continuing your journey afterwards.

Getting there by car

Just enter this address into Maps:

Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Piazza Ayrton Senna da Silva 1, 40026 Imola BO, Italy

Whether you're coming from Bologna, one of the coastal towns, or elsewhere in the region – we recommend using Google Maps to find the fastest route. Just a heads-up: traffic around the circuit can get busy on race weekend, so make sure to allow enough time and aim to arrive early. There are various car parks near the circuit – just follow the local signs and directions on-site.

Getting there by train

Travelling by public transport is a comfortable and eco-friendly option – especially on race weekend. From Bologna (Bologna Centrale), just hop on the regional train (REG line towards Rimini) to Imola – the journey takes around 30 minutes. From Imola station, it’s about a 30-minute walk to the circuit. Coming from the Adriatic coast? It’s just as easy. There are good train connections from places like Rimini and plenty of other coastal towns. The trip takes about 50 minutes – a great choice for anyone staying by the sea who doesn’t want to rely on a car.

Tip: Public transport can get pretty busy around race weekend – make sure to plan ahead and, ideally, book your tickets in advance. Our app recommendations will help you stay on track.
