Nightlife in Barcelona and surroundings

The fun doesn’t stop after the race – Barcelona truly comes alive at night! The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is located just around 30 minutes from the city, making Barcelona the perfect destination for motorsport fans. Exciting races, Mediterranean vibes, great weather and a vibrant nightlife all combine to deliver an unforgettable weekend. After a day full of adrenaline at the track, you can unwind at Barceloneta’s city beach, stroll through the old town or hit up the trendiest bars and clubs.

To start the evening in style, head to rooftop bars like those at Hotel 1898, Gallery or Sercotel Roselló, where you’ll get stunning views over the city – perfect for cocktails with a view. The Barceloneta beach area is within walking distance from the city centre and offers the ideal mix of chilled beach bars and lively clubs. One favourite is the Bestial Beach Club, right by the beach – the perfect spot to sip a drink while watching the sunset. For a more exclusive experience, the Boca Grande Bar in the city centre is your go-to for stylish drinks in an upscale setting.

The Costa Brava is also well worth a visit! Just a short drive from Barcelona, this beautiful stretch of coast boasts stunning coves, crystal-clear waters and charming seaside towns. In addition to relaxing beach days, you’ll also find exciting nightlife, especially in Lloret de Mar, known for its clubs and legendary beach parties.

Culinary highlights in the area

Barcelona is a hotspot for food lovers, offering a unique mix of traditional specialities and fine dining. From authentic tapas bars to exclusive gourmet restaurants – there’s something to suit every taste. After a long day at the track, dining right on Barceloneta beach is a perfect choice. L’Ostia stands out with its authentic cuisine and excellent value for money. For top-notch paella and fresh seafood, El Pez Vela and El Sheriff are also popular picks in the area. If you’re after a meal with a view of the marina, head to La Barceloneta restaurant.

There are plenty more culinary highlights to discover in the city centre too. The Mercat de la Boquería is a must for anyone wanting to enjoy Spanish delicacies in a vibrant, authentic market setting. For delicious tapas, El Cañete, Vinitus and Ciutat Comtal come highly recommended – all are known for fresh ingredients and real Spanish flair. Looking for something more upscale? Try El Nacional for a stylish food market experience or Compartir for top-tier Mediterranean cuisine. And if you’re still hungry for more food tips tailored to your taste, just head to Tripadvisor – you’ll find plenty more gems there!

The Costa Brava has some great foodie spots too: in Lloret de Mar, you’ll find more than just buzzing nightlife – there are also excellent restaurants like Mas Romeu for quality Mediterranean cuisine. Looking for great value? La Parrilla is a top pick. And for even more tasty recommendations, Tripadvisor’s got you covered.

Culture and Architecture in Barcelona

Away from the racetrack, Barcelona is bursting with history, art, and stunning architecture. The city isn’t just known for motorsport and its buzzing nightlife – it’s also famous for its impressive buildings and rich cultural heritage.

Gaudí’s Masterpieces

No trip to Barcelona is complete without seeing the iconic works of Antoni Gaudí, the architect who shaped the city like no other. His unique creations can be found all over town and are true highlights for every visitor. Don’t miss the Sagrada Familia – the still-unfinished basilica and one of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks. Casa Batlló, Casa Milà, and the colourful Park Güell are also absolute must-sees for lovers of architecture and art.

Gothic Quarter

Take a stroll through the narrow, winding streets of this historic part of town – where every corner tells a story from Barcelona’s past. Tip: download your maps in advance, as mobile signals can be patchy between the old stone buildings.

Local Markets

Barcelona is made up of 40 distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own character. In addition to the famous La Boquería, you’ll find plenty of smaller, authentic markets where you can discover delicious local specialities.

How to get to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Expand/Collapse

Planning to enjoy the Spanish Grand Prix to the fullest with your MotoGP Barcelona Tickets – and want to keep things stress-free? No worries – here are our top tips for a smooth and relaxed journey! The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is located about 30 minutes north of Barcelona and is easy to reach by car, motorbike or public transport.

Travelling by car or motorbike

If you're heading to the circuit by car or motorbike, it’s a good idea to plan your route in advance. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is accessible via two main roads:

  • C-17 (exit Montmeló)
  • AP-7 motorway (exits 13, 14 or 15)

Once you exit the motorway, just follow the clearly signposted routes to the designated parking areas. There’s no on-site parking ticket sale, so we highly recommend booking your parking in advance. Roads around the circuit can get very busy, especially on race weekend – so make sure to leave early to avoid long queues.

Important: Before you travel, check for the latest traffic updates and travel info to stay informed about any changes to access routes or parking options.

Travelling by bus or train

One of the big advantages of the Spanish GP is how easy and stress-free it is to get to the circuit by public transport. From Barcelona, you can take the RENFE suburban train (R2 Nord line) from Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gràcia, or Clot stations directly to Montmeló – the station closest to the circuit. The journey takes around 30 minutes. Additional trains run during the MotoGP weekend to make things even easier for fans. Since trains can get quite full, we recommend planning ahead and checking the current timetables before you set off. Train tickets are available at all major train stations in Barcelona.

On race weekend, free shuttle buses run throughout the day between Montmeló station and the circuit – from morning until early evening. These buses are timed to match train arrivals and run as frequently as needed depending on the number of passengers.

If you prefer, you can also walk to the Catalunya Circuit MotoGP, but keep in mind that the route along the main roads takes around 45 minutes – making the shuttle by far the more convenient option.

Another super convenient option is the official Grand Prix bus service operated by Autocars Sagalés.

  • From Barcelona: Buses depart regularly from Estació del Nord (near Arc de Triomf) and are well connected to the metro and Rodalies trains
  • From Lloret de Mar & surrounding coastal towns: Additional Sagalés buses are expected to run from Lloret de Mar as well.

Your advantage: No traffic, no parking stress – and you can enjoy the after-race parties in the Fanzone to the fullest, without having to worry about getting back.
